This program is recommended for young people aged 14-18 years. 

Over four action-packed days this program will explore animal welfare, community campaigns, and behaviour change, all through the lens of Zoos Victoria’s Safe Cat, Safe Wildlife campaign. With behind-the-scenes experiences, expert mentoring, and visits to RSPCA and Parliament, this is a chance to make a difference in your community and be part of something bigger. 

This program has a maximum of 30 participants so don't miss out! A minimum of 14 participants is required for the program to go ahead.

Please note: 

Day 3 travel to RSPCA Burwood will be by private bus organised by Zoos Victoria

Day 4 travel to Parliament of Victoria will be by train as a group from Melbourne Zoo (requires own Myki).

  • Build confidence, advocacy skills, and connections with others who care about animals and the environment 

Please note, the zoo prioritises animal welfare and wellbeing, so participants will not be able to touch or hold any animals at the zoo during this program.

Important Information

  • Tickets are non-refundable
  • Parents/guardians are not required to attend. This is a drop-off program
  • Outdoor, all-weather program - bring suitable clothing
  • Some activities within Zoo grounds where participants will not be under the direct supervision of a staff member
  • Participants must remain within the Zoo, RSPCA and Parliament of Victoria grounds throughout the program
  • Participants are responsible for providing and carrying with them any personal medication
  • First aid will be provided by a qualified Zoos Victoria First Aid Officer
